Many people will feel much more comfortable starting out by attending Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. There are also ways for families to get the assistance and support they need through Al-Anon and Alateen.
While we are not affiliated with these programs, we believe in what they do. So many people’s lives have been changed because of them. That is why they are included in our guide to the Mattawa area’s addiction recovery resources.
The Mattawa area offers many options for those searching for AA meetings. They are held in several locations all week long.

Unfortunately, there are currently no Mattawa Alateen meetings that are scheduled to take place in person. But, young people still have many ways that they can get the support they need.
Please note that there is no age limit for Al-Anon meetings. Young people are more than welcome to attend them to get support. Alateen also holds regular online chat sessions that are specifically for young people between the ages of 13 and 18.
Not everyone will respond well to AA or NA meetings, which means they are not always the best options. There are some people who need the type of support that can only be found by going through professional addiction treatment.
It helps to know what to expect when making this decision. While every person’s treatment plan should be different, the following provides some helpful information.
Many people who enter into treatment will need to begin with medical detox. This is a way to address withdrawal symptoms and potentially avoid dangerous complications from them.
Medical detox provides medications to the addict to help them cope with withdrawal. Some of the medications that are typically prescribed can even help people avoid certain symptoms altogether.
Many people do not realize that outpatient rehabilitation programs can work just as well as inpatient treatment. But, when a person is new to recovery, an intensive program is probably the best option. There, they will work with a therapist and in group therapy sessions to uncover the reason behind the addiction. For many, this will mean diagnosing a co-occurring disorder and receiving the proper form of treatment.
Our closest treatment center to the Mattawa area is Northpoint Seattle in Bellevue, WA. We are located just over two hours away by car.
Recovering from an addiction can be a challenge, but with the right support, it is possible. We want to help you find the method that will work best for you.
